My name is MJ Schrader, after 14 years as a bookkeeper / tax professional I was laid off in April and decided it was time for a change of direction. For 30 some odd years (some were even too I suppose) I decided it was time to follow a life long passion of writing. However writing is not exactly a well paying gig unless of course you are J.K. Rowling or Steven King. Yet, even the greatest of writers started with little more than two cents to rub together.
Thinking about my life and looking at the world outside, I realized how little motivation and encouragement there is in the world. A couple of websites inspired me, a friend’s daily posts of encouraging stories, seeing Jason Sadler create http://iwearyourshirt.com I knew there was something there. When I got a daily friend quote calendar from my friend Vicki, I knew what the answer was.
The idea is simple. Each day provide a quote, a short motivational story and a saying at the end. This provides people with daily encouragement. Then have companies and individuals sponsor a day. This gets them business, and they can encourage others. Plus each day I mention them several times on Facebook and Twitter.
Like “I Wear Your Shirt” was in 2009 the sponsor rate is face value of the day, therefore January 1st is $1 and December 31st is $365. Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17th is the 76th day of the year and he sells it for $76. Independence Day, the 4th of July is the 185th day of the year, so that’s 185. This year his rate is $2 per day.
But the basic story behind this is you probably are like me, you get inspirational quotes from one source, success tips from another, and an note to inspire you from yet another source. The question is why not combine all these different things?

For over 30 years MJ has dreamed of being a writer. Actually she told the children’s librarian that she wanted to be an arthur. She has since decided the librarian was right and author is a better choice, however she spent 14 years in the tax professional, bookkeeping field.
