We all have different desires and needs, but if we don’t discover what we want from ourselves and what we stand for, we will live passively and unfulfilled. ~ Bill Watterson ~
What Do You NOT Want?
It would seem the answer to that question would be easy. Yet for so many of us, the question causes us to stumble. Maybe you know the answer and are afraid to answer. However you may have had a certain answer years ago and now you do not. Now, you may not even have an answer at all.
Why did things change?
As a child you may have had a clear vision of what you wanted to be and do when you were grown. Then things changed. Your vision of what you actually want out of life changes. Things you did not think would be important became very important, while things that you thought you must have, became trivial.
Now what do you want?
As odd as it seems, change things. Try something completely different. Eat the food of another culture. Learn a new language or a new hobby. Try a new sport, get a part time job in another field.
Why?
You will experience something different. You may learn that you love rock-climbing. It may lead to a new interest or even a new job. You may learn that you really do not like fixing computers. That means something you do not want in your life. Sometimes learning what you don’t want is as important as what you do. ~MJ Schrader
